Rhinoplasty for Broken Noses
Facial bones that are most frequently broken are found in the nose. Broken noses are seen among all age groups because there are so many ways to break them — playing, sports, accidents, fights and falls.
Swelling can cause the nose to appear crooked and broken, however, until the swelling goes down it may difficult to tell if the bones are actually broken. Symptoms of a broken nose include: severe pain, swelling, bruising around the nose and eyes, crooked or bent appearance of the nose, uncontrollable bleeding or running, blocked nasal passages, difficulty breathing through the nose or a grating sound or feeling when the nose is touched or rubbed. Plasma Skin Resurfacing
Plasma skin regeneration (PSR) is a new technique for rejuvenating facial skin through the use of a unique technology. PSR delivers energy to the skin through ‘plasma pulses’ induced by passing radiofrequency into nitrogen gas. It is different from current techniques in that in relies neither on chemicals, light or radio frequency waves. According to a 2007 study reported on in the journal Archives of Dermatology,
“Plasma is a unique state of matter in which electrons are stripped from atoms to form an ionized gas. The plasma is emitted in a millisecond pulse to deliver energy to target tissue upon contact.” Read more
Considering Cosmetic Plastic Surgery?
The highly respected American Society of Plastic Surgeons recently undertook a research survey on the attitudes, perspectives and experiences of people who have had cosmetic plastic surgery. The resulting data reveals a great deal about the approach of the average cosmetic surgery patient to their procedure, both prior to surgery and during recovery. In February of 2008 the FDA signed off on their first approval of an in-home laser hair removal device. The product was developed by SpectraGenics Inc. and is being marketed by Tria Beauty who calls their hand-held device the Personal Laser Hair Removal System. To most in the body enhancement field, it’s known as the Tria Laser. SpectraGenics has been in the Japanese market since 2005 with a similar product called the i-Epi. Read more
