Prickly heat not just a summer symptom

Prickly heat can be an irritating symptom of hot, humid summers, but the condition also affects overdressed youngsters in the winter.
The Loyola University Health System describes symptoms of prickly heat as itching, irritations, small blisters and large, red areas on the skin, mostly appearing on the thighs and torso.
The condition results from pools of sweat trapped beneath the skin, which can be avoided by keeping the skin cool and dry. In some cases, doctors will also prescribe a corticosteroid lotion to ease the symptoms.
