3-D Imaging Tool For Cosmetic Surgery Consultation
A Northern Ireland firm, Axis Three, has developed a new 3D imaging and simulation intended as a consultation tool for the cosmetic surgery industry. After taking a scan of the patient, the surgeon can make the proposed cosmetic surgery alterations on the screen, allowing the patient different viewpoints and angles from the single scan. Cosmetic surgery was a 44 billion industry worldwide in 2003, and the company hopes more than 15,000 cosmetic surgeons in the U.S. will begin using the latest technology.
