In response to the growing demand for cosmetic surgery, cosmetic surgery “concierges” are trying to bridge the gap between potential patients and doctors. 

Finding a cosmetic surgeon can be, for some people, overwhelming.  Cosmetic surgeons nationwide boasting the latest cosmetic procedures, techniques and trends with varying prices and payment plans is too much for some people to absorb, but some people are contacting a concierge for referrals, as well as to help with pre-op research and follow up appointments.

In addition, if patients wish to travel for the cosmetic procedures, a concierge can help make the arrangements, while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.  Some experts do caution potential patients about using a concierge service.  Like any part of the cosmetic surgery process, safety is the most important, and the concierge must recommend only the most reputable and experienced surgeons to ensure safety and pleasing results.

A couple tips to look for if interested in using cosmetic surgery consultants is to make sure there are no conflicts of interests.  Not just the surgeon’s credentials need to be checked, but also the credentials of the concierge.  Patients should be wary of consultants that only work with a group of surgeons or centers.
