Plastic surgery has been helping millions of people worldwide look younger in recent years and this cosmetic trend doesn't appear to be stopping anytime soon.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), 104,000 facelifts, 53,000 forehead lifts and 233, 000 eyelid surgeries were performed in recent years.

5.3 million non-surgical procedures were also reportedly performed, including injectable wrinkle solutions.

Face Analysis

Plastic surgeons claim that patients can be given a treatment analysis to help them see the surgery that would be best for them based upon their age and face composition.

Malcolm Paul of the ASPS says that the composition in each individual is different and it eventually can be expected to change with time and age.

Therefore, Paul explains that it's important for patients to take into consideration that different ages and facial configurations require different levels of treatment.

A person's age and facial details, such as their eye shape, cheek width and bone length, can help both the patient and surgeon determine what the right course of treatment may be.

Age Breakdown

Patients, who are over the age of 30, reportedly show the first signs of aging below their eyes and around the temple area.

Those who are over 40 typically are in need of fillers since their cheeks begin to sag.

Individuals in their 50's tend to show signs of aging in their necks and often require facelifts, fillers and in some cases, implants.

For patients in their 60's and 70's, the face loses fat and the skin begins to sag. In these cases, a facelift is usually the best treatment option.
