Less Invasive Approach to Liposuction

The newest and most dramatic improvement in “liposculture” is a new laser technology, which performs the surgery more safely, effectively and with reduced pain and recovery time.

The new European Laser Liposuction has been introduced in the United States and other countries around the world. The laser splits apart the fat cells, which allows for smaller incisions, and minimized fluid injection.

For patients who want a more steady improvement, the fat cells in smaller areas of the body don't need to be suctioned. Over a short period of time, the body will gradually absorb the fat.

Whether or not a patient decides to suction the fat, the procedure is much less painful than traditional liposuction surgery. Bruising and swelling is minimal, which leads to a much quicker recovery time. According to plastic surgeon Dr. Tony Prochazka, the procedure takes about as much time as conventional liposuction and is typically performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.

Laser liposuction technique is safe in all regular areas of the body usually performed in traditional liposuction surgery. The procedure is most commonly performed on buttocks, thighs, abdomen, upper arms, and under the chin.

“With this revolutionary new equipment, we are able to reduce the fat in areas such as the face, forearms, and knees that were not possible before,” said Dr. Prochazka.
