The International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery recently studied 2, 338 men and found that more than 1, 300 would give up their personal possessions for more hair on their heads.

In 2004, the U.S. market for hair restoration procedures grossed $811 million and the majority of the patients were male.

According to Jeffrey Epstein, from the Foundation for Hair Restoration, men are generally unhappy with receding hairlines, which can have a negative impact in their overall confidence and level of self-worth.

One of the most popular options for hair gain with men is follicular unit grafting.

With follicular unit grafting, hair is transplanted in groups from one part of your hair to the other.

The procedure typically takes a few hours and costs $10,000 and up, depending on the amount of hair being transferred.

The procedure tends to be one of the more desired options for patients seeing as there is less of a chance of scarring and doctors are able to recreate a more defined and natural-looking hairline.
