According to scientists at the Rush Institute for Healthy Aging in Chicago, a person’s outlook on life and the way he or she takes care of the mind and body can lead to a longer lifespan.
Harvard Medical School professor, Dr. Herbert Benson, said by controlling stress through meditation, prayer or positive thoughts is important and it can create “biochemical, molecular, physiological changes in the body” that counter stressful conditions that negatively effect the body.
Staying busy, according to Bennett, does not necessarily wear a person out but can keep a person in great mental and physical shape and be a great source of stress relief.
