Guide to Arizona Plastic Surgery

One of Arizona's long-standing industries has been the operation of elaborate spas that served as retreats for well-heeled locals and out-of-state visitors who needed some retooling. The state has been noted for its weight reduction facilities that provide a few weeks of an intense diet and exercise regimen, tempered with massages and immersions in an assortment of baths or other facilities combining heat and water (and occasionally mud).

In the earlier days of cosmetic plastic surgery, some areas of Arizona also provided clinics that acted as similar retreats where a person seeking aesthetic surgery could check in, undergo the surgery and spend the initial recuperation period there, far from home and office, friends and family. Cosmetic plastic surgery has come a fair distance since then, although there are still deluxe desert rejuvenation facilities thriving in the state.

Scottsdale has long been host to such "retreats", and today is home to many established aesthetic plastic surgery facilities with doctors that are well known in their profession. Cosmetic plastic surgery practices in Scottsdale and the adjacent Phoenix tend to run to full service clinics: one facility lists these procedures for facial treatments alone:

  • Accent
  • Blepheroplasty
  • Botox
  • Collagen
  • Face Lift
  • Facial Contouring
  • Fat Transfer
  • Fraxel Laser
  • GFX
  • Injectables
  • Lip Enhancement
  • Mid Face Lift
  • Neck Lift
  • Otoplasty
  • Portrait PSR3
  • Radiesse
  • Restylane
  • Rhinoplasty
  • TCA Peel
  • Thermage
  • Verafil

Here you see at least six major aesthetic plastic surgery procedures that generally require anesthetic and a surgical team, along with every sort of injectable, filler, chemical treatment, laser treatment and plasma treatment that is available. And that's for one area of the body.

Arizona's plastic surgery clinics are not confined to the Phoenix-Scottsdale market. Tucson is a large city in its own right and has its own fine collection of medical facilities as well as outpatient ambulatory surgical facilities for aesthetic plastic surgery and minor treatments such as Botox.

Sedona is a wealthy community up in the "red rock" country that hosts its own particular form of medical facilities - a good number of which are "new age" oriented and include crystals and pyramids among the treatment tools. There are also legitimate cosmetic surgeons there, as well as in Flagstaff and Kingman serving the Northern Arizona area. In this area you might have to travel a bit to find a doctor with lots of experience in the procedure you're seeking but the towns of Arizona's mountains are home to many of the state's finest aesthetic plastic surgery practitioners, who chose to live in a quieter space than you'll find in Phoenix and Tucson.
