Guide to Hawaii Plastic Surgery

Three quarters of Hawaii's population lives in Honolulu and the island of Oahu, where Honolulu is found. That gives Oahu a population of over 900,000 and makes Honolulu an urban center to match many on the mainland. The city has a host of cosmetic plastic surgeons who have designed their practices to accommodate visitors as well as the local population. One practice has offices in Honolulu, on the island of Kauai and the island of Kona. They will make housing arrangements for visitors and arrange for post-operative caretakers if so desired by the patient.

Cosmetic plastic surgery on any island other than Oahu is an exception, however. But there are many board-certified surgeons on Oahu that are experienced with the latest technologies used in body enhancement and with the surgical procedures that are becoming increasingly popular.

Virtually every aesthetic plastic surgeon does breast augmentation surgery and those in Hawaii are no exception. All are working with both saline and silicone implants for breast enlargement; all are adept at breast reduction and breast lifts. These procedures are currently the most requested of America's plastic surgeons and Hawaii, with its beach culture and climate, should be no exception.

The outpatient plastic surgery clinics on Oahu also offer the many types of facial surgery that are now available in addition to a full face lift. Some of the public figures who have had face lifts that stretched their faces too tightly have caused many people to be wary of full face lifts. Endoscopic surgical techniques have made face lifts a little easier for the surgeon and a little safer for the patient. However the many options to a full face lift might work just as well for the patient seeking a more youthful face in Hawaii.

The options include a completely non-surgical option in Botox and other fillers. These facial fillers are given by injection and minimize the lines around the mouth and nose and the furrows of the brow. They are very effective, but require refreshing every three months to every year or so. Cosmetic plastic surgeons can also minimize bags and puffiness under the eyes through eyelid surgery. A forehead can be smoothed with a brow lift. Fat grafts can be made that will also minimize wrinkles in the face and around the mouth.

Hawaii's cosmetic plastic surgeons can also execute body sculpting procedures that include liposuction, tummy tucks, buttocks lifts and abdominoplasty. There are variations on all of these that can provide a prospective plastic surgery patient with the changes that he or she desires.
