Dr. David Caplin

Dr. David Caplin — a diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) — has been chosen as one of "America's Top Surgeons" and "Top Doctors" for many years. He was also voted by patients as one of the "Best Doctors" 2005–2008 in St. Louis Magazine. His areas of special interest are:

  • facial cosmetic surgery
  • all aspects of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast
  • body contouring and liposuction
  • endoscopic hand and carpal tunnel surgery


Dr. Caplin has performed one of the largest series of breast augmentations/reconstructions in the U.S. with the Mentor CPG breast implant. He also is an expert in minimally invasive cosmetic surgical procedures (such as laser-assisted liposuction — "Smart Lipo") and several facial rejuvenation procedures.

Dr. Melvin M. Maclin

Dr. Melvin Maclin, a board-certified plastic surgeon, graduated top in his class in medical school at Howard University College of Medicine. He finished his many years of surgical training at Washington University School of Medicine's Barnes-Jewish Hospital in plastic and reconstructive surgery. His areas of special interest are:

  • reconstructive surgery
  • body contouring
  • hand surgery


Dr. Maclin is also on staff at Missouri Baptist Hospital, HealthSouth Ballas Surgery Center, Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital, and Des Peres Hospital.

Dr. Patricia McGuire

Dr. Patricia McGuire is a board-certified plastic surgeon and clinical instructor of surgery at Washington University School of Medicine. She specializes in:

  • cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the breast (e.g., augmentation, reduction, and lifts)
  • post-cancer reconstruction
  • body contouring (including liposuction and abdominoplasty)
  • facial cosmetic procedures
  • hand surgery


Dr. McGuire was named one of the "Best Doctors" by St. Louis Magazine in 2005–2008. She and Dr. Charles Nathan have performed one of the largest series of breast augmentations and reconstructions (with the Allergan Style 410 implant) in the country.

Dr. Charles R. Nathan

Dr. Charles Nathan, honored as one of the "Best Doctors" by St. Louis Magazine in 2005 through 2008, is board-certified in both plastic and reconstructive surgery. He has also completed an additional five years in general surgery training. His areas of specialization are:

Dr. Nathan and Dr. McGuire have accomplished one of the largest series of breast augmentations and reconstructions using Allergan Style 410 ("gummy bear") implants in the U.S. They were the first surgeons selected as clinical investigators in Allergan's Style 410 implant study in the St. Louis area, and they have among the largest series of breast augmentations and reconstructions in the U.S.
