Breast Augmentation

As many will know, the most frequent complication following breast augmentation is an abnormal amount of scar tissue that forms around the implant which leads to a firm, hard and frequently distorted appearing breast.  This can progress to the appearance of a “grapefruit stuck on the chest wall.” Dr Birnbaum has demonstrated that the underlying cause of this condition is solely the body’s response to a low grade infection around the implant that can occur soon after implantation or many years later. The body then tries to “wall the infection off” by laying down excess scar tissue. The condition is referred to as a scar contracture or encapsulation and is exceedingly common. Almost always, whenever you can look at a girl and “know” they have implants in, they have this very problem. Dr. Birnbaum has developed a unique way of preventing it that has been highly successful in the overwhelming majority of his patients.

He performs breast reconstruction on breast cancer patients, and breast lifts, and reductions on ladies whom have been seeking to enhance their private and professional life.
