Daniel Yamini, M.D., F.A.C.S. is one of two co-founder of Sunset Cosmetic Surgery. He has dedicated a significant amount of time to better educating consumers about cosmetic treatments and plastic surgery throughout the course of his career. In addition to plastic and craniofacial surgery expertise, he has been also been trained in multiple other fields including reconstructive surgery.

Dr. Yamini completed his B.S. in Biology and B.A. in psychology at the prestigious Stanford University. Continuing on his education he attended the Medical College of Wisconsin where he earned his M.D. Upon return to California he was accepted into an advanced six year surgical residency program at UCLA-Harbor, where he received training in breast surgery, oncology, vascular, thoracic, and open-heart surgery. Discovering his passion for plastic surgery he went on to a plastic and reconstructive surgery training program at Providence Hospital and Medical Centers & the Institute for Craniofacial and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery in Detroit, Michigan, and then finished his Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship back in California at renowned Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Ellenbogen’s practice.

Steve Svehlak, M.D., F.A.C.S. is the other co-founder of Sunset Cosmetic Surgery. He takes pride in his extensive diverse background which includes reconstructive surgery for cancer, breast and traumatic injury. In addition, Dr. Svehlak is highly experienced in reconstructive surgery for children’s traumatic injuries and congenital deformities.

Dr. Svehlak’s undergraduate education in Biology with a minor in Chemistry was received from University of Connecticut and his doctorate in medicine from the New York Medical College. He then accepted surgical internships at Stamford Hospital and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Pursuant of further training, he completed a plastic surgery residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Centers/Program, Fellowships in plastic surgery at George Washington University and Children’s National Medical Center, and trained in advanced cosmetic surgery under Richard Ellllenbogen in his Beverly Hills practice.
