Guide to Idaho Plastic Surgery
Idaho is often viewed as one of those isolated western states where the skies are vast, the population scattered and few. The fact is that Boise, the capitol and most populous metro area is home to about 650,000 citizens. That’s enough of a populace to require first class medical facilities and as an adjunct, plastic surgeons who are board certified.
Some of the doctors whose practices seem to incorporate cosmetic plastic surgery tend to advertise their services as more traditional. Thus a practice that offers vein surgery calls its doctors ‘board certified vascular surgeons’. An ear, nose and throat practice with board certified surgeons offers facial plastic surgery as one option among an assortment of treatments for nasal and sinus disorders, sleep apnea, head and neck cancer surgery, and so on.
Boise also has plastic surgeons that focus solely on physical enhancement. There are a number of them in downtown Boise, and no doubt others practicing in private clinics outside central Boise. Idaho Falls has a number of cosmetic plastic surgeons who define their practices by specialties such as breast augmentation, facial treatments with Botox or similar fillers along with rhinoplasty and the traditional face lifts.
There are also board certified plastic surgeons in some of the smaller towns, as the state has begun to cater to a wealthy out-of-state populace that maintain second homes there. In northern Idaho there are a few practicing plastic surgeons that often mix reconstructive surgery with cosmetic plastic surgery. That may be all that you’ll find in rural Idaho, but finding a board certified cosmetic plastic surgeon is still the safest bet you can make when you are contemplating that surgical makeover.
The other factor that is important to consider when you are looking for surgical services away from the population centers is about the facility that your potential cosmetic plastic surgeon uses. Many of these are not part of traditional medical clinics or hospitals, but rather are outpatient surgical centers operated by the doctors themselves.
Ask if the office or clinic your doctor uses is certified as well. There are inspection organizations that go through these outpatient facilities much like hospital accrediting teams inspect acute care facilities every year. They determine that sanitation is all that it should be, that the staff is properly trained, that the anesthesiologist is licensed, and so on. Idaho’s board certified plastic surgeons are in the state and are as busy as their colleagues in other states – you just have to be patient and seek out the one that’s right for you.
