American Board Certified in Plastic Surgery, Dr. Miguel L. Gallegos strives to contribute to the development of new techniques in plastic surgery. He completed research on a one-stage treatment approach for tuberous breast deformities at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Gallegos later authored an article regarding the study which appeared in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal.

Additionally, he has published other pieces on breast reconstruction in leading medical journals. Dr. Gallegos is a volunteer in the Department of Surgery at the University of New Mexico. He also maintains hospital affiliations at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital, Lovelace Health System, Roswell Regional, Heart Hospital of New Mexico, and Albuquerque Surgery Center.
