Jackson is Mississippi’s capitol and largest city.  It is also home to the University of Mississippi’s Medical Center: the health sciences campus of the University of Mississippi.  It houses schools of medicine, nursing, health related professions, dentistry and graduate studies in the health sciences; the University hospitals and health system; and the Rowland Medical Library.

Along the Gulf Coast in Gulfport and Biloxi Mississippians can find quality board certified plastic surgeons as well.  The beach-oriented communities there may cause residents to focus a little more on personal appearance than other parts of the state.  It is important to ask doctors you may interview in these areas about their board certification and certification of their facilities. 

In areas with lots of tourists and transients you want to make sure that your surgeon is one who is well established in the area and properly credentialed.  Additionally, it is appropriate to ask about the doctor’s experience in the procedure you are seeking – and ask to see before and after pictures of former patients.  Procedures such as breast augmentation and face lifts are not simple; find a doctor who has been through many repetitions of your desired procedure.
