Guide to Wyoming Plastic Surgery

Research the availability of cosmetic plastic surgery in Wyoming and before you can find a doctor in the state you’ll encounter websites for doctors in Billings Montana, Idaho Falls Idaho and a service that will fly you to Costa Rica and arrange to have your surgery done there.

But don’t be discouraged.  Cheyenne, the biggest metro area in the state tops out at about 86,000 residents.  You just have to look a little harder to find a board certified plastic surgeon in the area because the entire state is actually a fairly small market.  The Cheyenne Regional Medical Center is the local hospital, a 200+ bed acute care facility with a large range of outpatient health services.  There is a plastic surgeon affiliated with the Medical Center who is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons.  The clinic can certainly also provide recommendations for cosmetic surgeons, on both sides of the state line.

Jackson Hole, Wyoming has more plastic surgeons – at least, more that are easily found – than Cheyenne.  Perhaps that is due to the number of wealthy out-of-state residents that have second homes there.  There is also at least one cosmetic surgeon that has a practice both in Jackson Hole and in the State of Washington.  As is to be expected, these doctors are generalists – performing the most popular cosmetic plastic surgery procedures including rhinoplasty, breast augmentation and liposuction.  Some offer procedures that include the more delicate work of eyelid surgery and brow lifts and most can perform a tummy tuck on request.

Casper, Wyoming also has at least one plastic surgeon that performs both cosmetic and reconstructive procedures.  Once again, in both Casper and Jackson Hole there are Idaho surgeons who advertise their services.  There are also ophthalmologists in Wyoming who may perform eyelid cosmetic surgery along with all of the medical procedures that they are accustomed to. 

Wyoming is the least populous state in the nation.  It may be one of those pockets in the country where cosmetic plastic surgery has not become an everyday fact of life.  But that will change, as time passes.  One estimate by a professional society in the field estimates that surgical and non-surgical cosmetic procedures will quadruple between the years of 2005 and 2015.  Surely that will bring Wyoming along as well as the rest of the country.
