Breast Reduction Through Liposuction

Breast reduction through liposuction is a plastic surgery technique performed to decrease the size and weight of the female breasts. Performing breast reduction through liposuction often results in less scarring and potentially less physical trauma to the breast region. During a breast reduction through liposuction, the excess fatty breast tissues are extracted through the use of a cannula or medical tube, in order to decrease the size and weight of female breast with minimal risk of complications.

Choosing Breast Reduction Through Liposuction

Breast reduction is a plastic surgery procedure which is performed for medical and health reasons rather than for cosmetic purposes. Women with exceptionally large breasts can suffer from a variety of health problems including back problems, neck pain, skin irritations, skeletal deformities, and breathing problems. Women who have breast reduction surgery are often the most satisfied plastic surgery patients because the results can greatly mitigate physical problems and emotional insecurities while improving the overall appearance of the breast area.

The best candidates for breast reduction through liposuction are women with breasts that are not too large (no bigger than a DD) and have good skin elasticity. It is important for a woman to have a realistic understanding of what to expect before, during, and after breast reduction through liposuction. The risks and benefits of the procedure should be well understood before the surgery takes place. A patient should discuss their full medical history and all current medication and supplement use with their plastic surgeon during the initial consultation.

Potential Risks

As with all surgical procedures, there are some risks associated with breast reduction through liposuction. Anesthesia complications, infection, and bleeding are rare but potential risks associated with breast reduction through liposuction. The potential risks associated with breast reduction are much fewer with liposuction as compared to traditional breast reduction techniques. Because breast reduction through liposuction is performed for medical reasons, most health insurance companies will cover the costs of this plastic surgery procedure.
