Non Surgical Liposuction

The desire for plastic surgery has never been greater than it is in the world today. However, many people who are looking to change their physical appearance would love to do so without actually having to go through surgery.

Fortunately, a great deal of progress has been made in the field of body contouring which has allowed various types of non-surgical procedures, such as non-surgical liposuction, to become available to patients. Although these alternatives are still waiting approval in the United States, they have been helping people create a better self-image worldwide for years.

Non-surgical Liposuction Options

For individuals who want to rid their bodies of excess fat, liposuction is a good option; however, for those unsure of having an operation that entails anesthesia, surgical risks and a period of recovery, there are several non-surgical liposuction options, including:

  • Lipodissolve - With lipodissolve, mild medications and enzymes are injected into the areas of unwanted fat, causing the fat to dissolve. The fat is eventually liquefied and flushed from the system through urine.
  • Mesotherapy - This popular way to get rid of cellulite in Europe and South America enables doctors to use tiny injections of amino acids, medications and holistic compounds to dissolve fatty tissues.

Laser liposuction represents another minimally invasive technique for removing fat. Approved for use in the U.S., this type of liposuction employs the use of lasers to liquefy fat, making it easier for removal. In some cases, the fat will be reabsorbed by the body and flushed out through the lymphatic system.

Benefits of Non-Surgical Liposuction

Non-surgical liposuction has a number of benefits, including fat loss, minimal recovery time, reduced appearance of cellulite and stretch marks, and oftentimes tighter skin. Despite the benefits, lipodissolve and mesotherapy have not yet gained approval in the United States. Since laser liposuction is so new, individuals considering it should consult with a board certified plastic surgeon trained and skilled in this technique.
